A Bit About Acacia
With many years of experience as a Full Stack Web Developer, Brand Experience Designer, Studio Artist, Graphic Designer, Pro Photographer, and IT Consultant, Acacia deftly combines her many artistic abilities with her deep passion for technology. She first started coding in 1998, and has been developing with WordPress since 2008.
As a one woman boutique creative web studio owner, Acacia has worked with Clients all over the world in education, technology, fine art, entertainment, lifestyle, journalism, fashion, healthcare, travel, startups, and the non-profit sector.
She was a Speaker at the AIGA Design Summit 2019 (Keynote), hosted 2 events at Meow Wolf (“The Unicorn Party”, March 2019 and “Intro to WordPress”, June 2019), and has spoken at several WordPress Albuquerque Meetups (“SEO Secrets”, “Top 10 Plugins for 2020” and more), and the Digital Arts & Technology Academy in Albuquerque (“Graphic Design”).
Acacia was an active Member of WordPress Albuquerque Meetups and was Lead Organizer, Venue Coordinator, Designer, Budget Manager, and SWAG Designer for WordCamp Albuquerque 2020 (Canceled due to COVID-19).
She has been running the tech and design Blog Design+ for many years and also wrote the book, Uncommon Creative: The Handbook for Unicorns, which she self-published in November, 2018.
In her spare time, she is an All Styles dancer who has studied at dance studios in Santa Fe, Albuquerque, and Boulder. She loves Hip Hop, K-Pop, and just about anything from the ’80s. If she’s not fighting cyber crime or making something sparkly for her Shop, she’s probably chilling in nature or working on a new mix in her music studio.
